We stayed at BirchCrest this year for 1 week. The resort is in need of some major work. The boat that was included with the cabin had a 3 inch hole in the side. I asked if I could have another boat and even upgrade to a larger one but was told none were available. We were told we resrved Cabin 6 but when we arrived we were given cabin 3. Not sure why and no explanation was given. The roof leaked water on our bed in the front room 2 evenings so we had to put a pot on the bed to sleep those nights. The key would not lock the front door and the rear sliding door left a 2 inch gap at the bottom unless you slammed it and lock did not work on it either. The owners were never around. The store was always closed and you need to call them to come down or walk to there house up the lane if you needed anything. The front door entry was rotted through on the bottom as well as the front deck. If you bounced on it you would have fallen through. Screens were ripped on both doors and they tried to cover the holes with duct tape. The anchor that was with the boat also fell off the rope while out fishing as well as the ropes that were to tie the boat to the dock were both badly worn and pieces were knotted together to make them long enough to reach the dock. As you can tell I was not very happy with the cabin or boat. Toilet was also not mounted properly and loose. they had pieces of wood wedged under the toilet to hold it. We used the bathroom at the store as we were concerned it would break..
