I hired Above and Beyond Moving to move the basic furniture from my small one bedroom apt to my new place. When I called the office to get their rates, I was told it was $90/hr. I booked it. On moving day, they were almost 4 hours late. It had snowed and they were running late, but they never called to let me know. When I called, they didn't even have my booking. They finally found my booking, and showed up at 12:40pm There were 3 men and they were very efficient and had my furniture loaded in about 20 minutes. We headed to the new place and they unloaded quickly and were completely done in an hour, from start to finish (including bathroom breaks, set-up, clean-up, and billing). When it came time for billing, I was asked if I knew there is a 2 hour minimum. I told him that I was not aware of that, and that I was quoted $90/hr +tax. He informs me that the price I was quoted was for 2 guys, but I had 3 moving so it would be $120/hr +tax. No one had told me this at any given point. I did not need 3 me to move such a small space. There didn't seems much that he could do, so I wrote him a cheque for $252.00 and they left. As soon as the moving guys left, I called the office and informed them that I was not happy. After much debate, she offered to take $40 off, to which I said that wasn't enough. We finally settled on a refund of $52, which I still wasn't happy with, but couldn't argue anymore. I was told that she would drop cash off to me the next day. She did call, and I was at my old place finishing up, and she said she couldn't come out there. She said she would call the next day, but I never heard from her. They never answered my calls after that. I would just like to warn others so they don't get overcharged by this company as well.
