DON'T BUY FROM THIS NURSERY! We recently purchased 7 mature trees from Branched Out at approx. 375-400/tree. Mancana Ash and Trembling Aspens. We loved how they looked and they seemed healthy in appearance, but looks were deceiving! When they were planted in our backyard, we noticed they were notched near the bottoms (previously hidden by dirt and burlap when we viewed them at the nursery). We found out later this is called "Girdling" and will likely cause the trees to die because the bark is damaged all the way around or if they survive it will be a weak spot in the trunk of the tree that will leave it vulnerable to big winds- which we get alot of here! We had three certified Arbourists check them out and advise the same conclusion- they are likely going to die. The Manager claims there is nothing wrong with the trees but they are warrantied anyways for one year. So we are stuck with defective trees until they die by next September?! The fault is theirs and that Manager originally acknowledged it and said someone missed removing the wire/string from the base rootball when they were planted. We want them replaced with healthy trees or a refund of our nearly 3000.00 that we paid. They refuse, so now we are taking legal action. Learn from our mistake! Don't buy trees here!
