I was recently walking by through Hudsons Bay, and I passed by Dr. Jared Gervais' office and remembered my very bitter experience there a few years ago, which I would now like to share.
I arrived ahead of the appointed time, and checked in to reception. There, I was immediately asked to pay for my eye exam before the exam even began (which I thought was weird, because usually you pay after the exam and not upfront) and I paid and got the receipt for that.
I then proceeded to be called into the exam room, and the eye exam began and went as it usually goes. Then in the middle of the exam, Dr. Gervais stopped the exam, turned on the lights, and brought me the debit machine to pay for the exam. I told him I had paid already, he left the exam room to ask the receptionist if that is true. He then came back and told me to find the receipt because he did not believe me. I began to look through my somewhat large purse where the receipt was hiding, and he loomed over me the whole time watching me. When I finally found the receipt, he then continued the exam.
I felt very humiliated and he hurt my feelings deeply, I nearly burst into tears.
I have lived in this city for many years, and went to many places/offices, but I have never been treated so shamefully.
I would NEVER recommend this optometrist to anybody.
