Company description
West Coast Psychological Services (WCPS) provides psychovocational, psychoeducational, and neuropsychological assessments for a wide variety of individuals. We focus on identifying a person's specific strengths and challenges, and developing clear recommendations that will lead to most effective participation in employment, education, or other endeavours. Our clients include Vocational Rehabilitation Services / Employment Program for Persons with Disabilities, the Workers' Compensation Board of BC, the Fraser Health Authority, the Insurance Corporation of BC, Community Living BC, and various private insurance companies, employment agencies, and legal firms. Our main office is centrally located in Vancouver, on major transportation routes; our facilities are wheelchair-accessible, and parking is available in our building. We also regularly provide asssessment clinics on Vancouver Island, and in the Sunshine Coast, the Okanagan, and Northern BC. We maintain a high level of quality. The director reviews all reports completed by staff. All Master's level staff are supervised by Registered Psychologists. We meet regularly for peer supervision, training, and continuous quality improvement. We have provided formal pre-doctoral psychology internships for the University of British Columbia and York University, and practicum placements for Simon Fraser University and the University of Waterloo. We solicit feedback from our referral sources to ensure we are meeting the needs of our clients. We maintain a library of texts and current journal articles, and emphasize the use of current, reliable, and valid best practices methods. Our key staff all have many years of experience, and most of our Registered Psychologists have conducted well over 1000 assessments each.
