Sault This Week Established in 1967 and initially known as Shopper News, Sault This Week continues to be a once-a-week publication that is delivered free of charge to local residences and businesses. First owned by Al Muncaster, his son Rick and James Kinkaid, Shopper News evolved into Sault This Week in the early 1980s. With the younger Muncaster at the helm as publisher and Kinkaid on board as advertising manager, Sault This Week earned a firm and secure existence within the local media. Later the property of several national media companies before being taken over by Postmedia (along with sister publication, The Sault Star) content that appears in the Sault This Week print edition is also posted on line via saultthisweek.com. Maureen Montanini heads up the business side of the Sault This Week. Former Sault Star night editor Richard Plaunt, a five-decade veteran of the newspaper business, now manages the editorial content for the Sault This Week. And media veteran Randy Russon has carried on as the primary sports writer for Sault This Week since first being hired by the aforementioned Rick Muncaster back in 1982.
