We are a licensed North Vancouver daycare centre offering educational child care on the grounds of Queensbury Elementary School. We recently renovated our space into an artful, cozy building designed with little feet and hands in mind!
We offer:
GROUP DAYCARE including all-day preschool for ages 2 1/2 to 5 years
BEFORE and AFTER SCHOOL CARE for children ages 5 to 12
PRESCHOOL half day 9am – 1pm
Children at our child care centre in North Vancouver love coming to daycare. With Rainforest Learning Centre’s custom daycare program, young kids learn like preschoolers, while activities are still sensible for their age. We take care to ensure that both toddlers and ‘older kids’ are participating in pursuits they find enjoyable, and that challenge them in an appropriate way.
Most of all, learning at our North Vancouver daycare is fun. We incorporate nature, community responsibility and social interaction in our education methods.
Our aim is that they remain so engaged that by the time they go home, they are excited to tell you about what they learned and did that day.
Early childhood education incorporated into your daycare centre, to us, also means that the pre-k curriculum is current and researched. We draw from various early learning methods, from Reggio Emilia, Waldorf theory to Montessori and more.
We know that emergent curriculum is important for spontaneity and imagination, but so is structure for predictability and behavioural acceptance. We have found that using our custom preschool curriculum within our daycare structure provides the advantages of most teaching methods. At the same time, it doesn’t compromise or sacrifice the benefits of any one early childhood education practice either.
