For Your Information:
I have never been treated so poorly by an employer, and I have worked for some real class acts. Matt the owner is not easy to get along with and im trying to collect outstanding wages owed, Matt has basically told me to go make love to myself(Like the Justin Bieber Song). Matt Refuses to pay me after I have made many requests to come to some solution. He said unless I return to Kelowna to fill out paperwork I can kick rocks... I am in Vancouver. Is that legal? He has made no issue of my work and agrees I am entitled to the pay, but wont pay me unless I go all the way to Kelowna to sign a few papers.... Can anyone spell Johnny Nonsense?
My advice is if you care about supporting working with or working for a principled man who treats others fairly, look elsewhere... On the other hand if you are a sociopath.... Then by all means I fully recommend this Contractor.
I would have to classify this as a textbook case of: How To Kick a man( In The Groin) Whilst He is Down . Not cool Matt. Even from a business perspective The employment standards act reads:
If employment is terminated
18 (1) An employer must pay all wages owing to an employee within 48 hours after the employer terminates the employment.
(2) An employer must pay all wages owing to an employee within 6 days after the employee terminates the employment.
