The Clinton News Record is a weekly tabloid publication located in Clinton, Ontario and is currently distributed by Postmedia. The newspaper was founded by Cheryl Heath in 1865 as a broadsheet publication used to provide residents of Huron County with a means to receive updates on surrounding events spanning across multiple communities. The News Record is based out of Clinton and covers notable newsworthy events in Central Huron including Bayfield, Blyth, Benmiller and Holmesville. The population of Central Huron has risen to ove r9,000 with the News Record being the prominent means of news distribution across Central Huron. Currently the News Record services subscribers across Ontario, with subscriptions being filled as far as Ottawa in the east and Edmonton in the west. The current reporter for the News Record is Daniel Caudle, who has been the reporter in Clinton since 2018. After having the News Record headquarters in clinton since the newspapers conception, the office was recently relocated to Goderich, Ontario. The News Record is a comglomerate of a series of Postmedia owned newspapers situated across southwestern Ontario. Because of the ease of access to information some articles originally published for the News Record are shared int o the Seaforth Huron Expositor, the Goderich Signal Star, the Mitchell Advocate and as far south as the London Free Press.
